OpenGrok is a fast and usable source code search and cross reference engine. It helps you search, cross-reference and navigate your source tree. It can understand various program file formats and version control histories like Mercurial, Git, SCCS, RCS, CVS, Subversion, Teamware, ClearCase, Perforce, Monotone and Bazaar. In other words it lets you grok (profoundly understand) source code and is developed in the open, hence the name OpenGrok. It is written in Java. OpenGrok is the tool used for the OpenSolaris source browser and search.

How to install Opengrok project.
(1) Download Opengrok binary in Homepage.

(2) Install some package.
sudo apt-get install ctags tomcat6 tomcat6-admin

(3) Make some directory.
mkdir -p /var/opengrok/data
mkdir -p /var/opengrok/src
mkdir -p /var/opengrok/etc

(4) deploy source.war
(binary download folder is "/opengrok-download".)
/opengrok-download/bin/Opengrok deploy

(5) Download source in src folder(= /var/opengrok/src)

(6) Index source.
(binary download folder is "/opengrok-download".)
/opengrok-download/bin/Opengrok index

(7) Wait for finish to index.

(8) Use opengrok project!
http://localhost:8080/source
(source.war name is homepage last URL.)
